The studio
One person, a wax pot,
and a lot of small tags.
The Detail Bar started with a single order of shower favors and a stubborn opinion: the thing guests take home shouldn't get left on the table.
How it began
A batch of favors
for a friend's shower.
Twelve candles, poured in a kitchen, each with a name written by hand. Guests asked where they came from before the cake was cut.
A year later the studio has shipped 195 orders and holds Etsy's Star Seller badge โ awarded for consistent five-star reviews, on-time shipping and fast replies. The work hasn't changed much. Small batches, sculpted by hand, one name at a time.
Everything is still made to order. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting for a buyer, which is why a piece takes days rather than hours โ and why it looks like it was made for you, because it was.
What goes in
Materials, plainly.
Soy, not paraffin
Burns cooler and cleaner, and holds a sculpted shape well enough for a bear to keep its ears.
Cotton, lead-free
Sized to the vessel so the pool reaches the edge instead of tunnelling down the middle.
Phthalate-free fragrance at a low load, so a room of fifty favors doesn't overwhelm the room. Unscented on request.
Where the name comes from
The detail is the point.
The tag
Printed, not stickered. Trimmed by hand, tied with the ribbon rather than glued to the glass, and set so the name reads right-side up when the favor sits on a plate.
The count
Bulk orders ship with spares on top. Someone always breaks one, and it should never be your problem on the morning of.
The box
Padded in layers, packed in table order, and taped so it opens from the top without a knife going anywhere near the wax.
The reply
Messages get answered the same day, usually within a few hours. Star Seller status depends on it, but that isn't really why.
